About Us

our history

Indiflora cc was originally established in 1993 as a company growing and exporting Protea cut flowers. When the three other partners emigrated to the USA and a fire destroyed the Protea farm the focus of the cc shifted to the environment. Initially operating in 1997 as an alien invasive control and landscape installation contractor until Eskom opened an opportunity to screen new power line servitudes for trees across KwaZulu-Natal. This led to the doing of EIA’s and specialist vegetation and biodiversity studies all over KwaZulu-Natal. Simbithi Eco-Estate was the first estate where the baseline assessments were done, and the landscape and rehabilitation implementation were planned and managed.

Soon Langford Country Estate, PheZulu Game Estate, Stoneford Equestrian Estate, Beverley Hills Estate, Hilltop Private Estate, Brettenwood Coastal Estate, Izinga Estate and Zimbali Coastal Resort followed.

Our involvement as specialist horticulturist with Muti Futhi took us to the United Nations in Nairobi to receive the SEED award on behalf of the community upliftment and commercialization of indigenous muti plants project.

A vegetation assessment project in Cameroon was a once-in a-life time experience.

The outbreak of Polyphagous Shothole Borer (PSHB) in 2017 created an opportunity to be at the spearhead of this scourge and to be able to create awareness about the beetle and its’ Fusarium symbiont in KwaZulu-Natal.

Rehabilitation and restoration of grasslands is becoming an important activity to fight climate change. Indiflora cc is facilitating grassland rehabilitation projects in Zimbali, Beverley Hills, Brettenwood and Stoneford Estates.

Indiflora cc is well averse with Environment compliance monitoring from preparing the EMPr, inducting the work force, auditing construction sites and preparing environment compliance monitoring reports.

Urban agriculture projects is the way of the future. Helping the local community to become self-sufficient is rewarding work.

Invasive alien plant control is an environmental priority. Indiflora cc is well averse with preparing management plans, managing control projects, training workers and doing audits.

Indiflora cc has assisted estates with the management of their wildlife and have conducted numerous chameleon rescue projects prior to the commencement of construction
